Updates

Hi all,

It has been years since my last post. I actually forgot that I even had a blog!

Since, I've finished a 2nd degree (Honours Bachelor of Social Work) and currently working on completing a Master's of Social Work degree.

In July of 2007, I met my love, Joel, and we've been living together since June 2008.

Mom & Dad are still busy with the radio stations, and DJ is moving back to Ontario (from Montreal).

Life is GREAT! Let's hope 2010 brings plenty of joy for all.

xoxo

So many jobs.. what to do?

Well, it's been a crazy 2 days!

I have an on-call job at Alliance Family Centre daycare and applied for a full-time job at Cobourg Day Care. But, I applied a long time ago for a job at Falconhurst group home...

I got a call today for a phone interview with Falconhurst & did well on the phone interview, so I was asked to come in Monday AM for a "meeting." I was told that I'd be perfect for the job & it looks pretty good that I'll get it... but I got a phone message from the director of Cobourg Daycare about offering me the job, and there's an internship that just came out yesterday for Community & Social Services of Northumberland that I'm 100% fit for.

So I know that I've gotta choose Falconhurst over Cobourg Daycare, but I hope that I can do the internship too... that'd be 3 jobs, but that'd mean mega experience and mega $ for my loans. I guess I'll just keeping saying yes and if it gets to be too much, I'll leave the Alliance one. Whoa, I went from no job to this...

that's all for today's episode.. stay tuned!

First entry

Hello everyone!

So after a kick-ass summer in Toronto, I have moved back to Cobourg to live at home with my parents. I will be working at Alliance Family Centre (Daycare) and volunteering on the side. Definitely can't wait to go back to school to get my Social Work degree and actually start working in my field... but for now, I'm looking forward to lessening my debt a little.

My brother, DJ, is in China. He'll be there until December 17th, the day after my 23rd birthday. Miss him a lot, but he calls basically every other day so at least we keep in touch. Ashlie Horton is in France (yay Ash!) until spring! Maybe i should go somewhere overseas... hmm... England? Ireland? Figi?

I got to see my first Leafs game recently! Sooooo much fun. I have a new love for sports these days... watching them, that is. Although, I had fun practicing my baseball swing a couple weeks ago..thanks Noel.

That's about as exciting as it gets right now... stay tuned, ya never know what can happen next in my life!

Chow,
~Ashleigh~
